For a school founded in 2001 it sure was a strange old gate post.

Mo had chosen this particular High School for the sports, and he was looking forward to joining the athletics team.

He was a little wary though because to be accepted he knew he must first find the other gate post!

A sign of success

Max was a rogue!

Everyone said he would probably end up in jail!

He stole the signs over many years and added them to the posts.

No-one cared that they weren’t relevant, but tourists came in their thousands to take selfies.

Max, in his successful ice cream parlour, next door, smiled!

Gatsby was feeling great!
Jesus was calling round and they were going to visit Dan Brown’s new nightclub, Inferno.
He was leaning towards going for a Wimpy burger first and rounding off the evening seeing Fifty Shades of Grey.
Oh, the places you’ll go to feel Happy, Happy, Happy!

A MINOR INCONVENIENCE

You see that ridge line, over to the right? That’s where the boss wants the charge placed. Just under that overhang. The avalanche and rockslide should do the job perfectly!

POTUS, meanwhile, was adding the finishing touches to his plan for a golf course for the rich and famous.

OK you pesky elves, someone is having a laugh.
That middle tree is upside down!
I want you to dig it up and plant it the right way.

We can’t do that mister, it’s getting dark.

Never mind about that, just get it done.

No, we can’t do that! It’s against the new rules for elfin safety!

It rather spoils the tale but, on checking, I find that what is “Health and Safety” in the UK is “Occupational Safety and Health” in USA, “Workplace Health and Safety” in Australia, and any number of other descriptions in other countries, so my tale falls a bit flat! Put it down to age!!

“So, Mrs Slaney, you taught Peter, and his sister, at age 10?”

“Yes. I taught a lot of brothers and sisters over the years. Most were a pleasure to teach and really made great efforts.”

“Can you remember what you wrote on his final report?”

“What I always wrote, COULD DO BETTER!”

Mrs Slaney really was my teacher in the final year of Primary (Grade 5). She was probably the greatest influence I had in all of my education. The very first task for every child in her class was to write, in the front of their Nature study/geography book, the following words:

A thing of beauty is a joy forever.

Now that is a good thing to remember!

“I’ll just explain again. You accelerate hard. Don’t worry about the bumps and bends, the bus will keep you safe. Now, this is the important bit. Once you get to 97mph the vehicle will disappear. You’ll still be in it though.”

“Any side effects?”

“You may wet yourself.”

“Thanks!”

He was a total fool. The last to admit it, but admit it he did!
One wish, she’d said.
He asked for it.
No hesitation.
Stupid!
“I wish time could go backwards, so I could be young again.”
The wish was granted.
Sadly he hadn’t stipulated a cut off point, and being unborn was not nice!

Each night, as the sun began to sink below the horizon, she climbed to the half landing, placing a candle in the window. Striking a match, to light the wick, reminded her of striking the killer blow. As she descended the stairs she stroked the panel behind which he was entombed!

The last thing she needed, another bloody message in a bottle!

She’d come to this deserted island to finish her novel and it appeared to be on a major message in a bottle route. This was the 17th so far!

However, this one may perhaps prove useful, it was from a stranded publisher!
