It’s time again, for Kat Myrman’s wonderful challenge, to write a story, inspired by her picture prompt, in 280 characters or fewer.
Here is this week’s prompt and my contribution.
Check out all the fabulously creative entries here and, if you’ve never had a go, why not try a story of your own? You may surprise yourself!

Jake remembered sitting in the Manhattan bar.
He remembered talking to the gorgeous brunette, whose name he discovered was Mitsuko.
He remembered calling her Mitsy, which was easier, especially after the 4th bourbon.
What he couldn’t work out was how the hell he ended up in Japan!

Mitsy’s got some ‘splainin’ to do. Very nice tale Peter! 😊

That’s so weird..we have a friend called Jake, who lives in Manhattan! I’d best ask him what he’s been up to with brunettes, in the bars there! Though I think it’ll only refer to one of his guitars, or one of his cats, who followed him there! Nice tale 😊

I looked up the engine to see if it was real and found that it is Japanese. The drinker had a longer name originally, but had to have a shorter one to fit in the tweet length!

Aha! That’s the Japanese link, excellent! I meant to say, lovely to see the steam engine footage too.

Ha ha ha. Not a bad conundrum to be facing, at least he gets to be in Japan 🙂

Maybe he joined her in her favourite tipple of Seedlip Spice and at 94% alcohol he simply lost the track of time and space and followed her on board the train bound for Japan! Best I could think of!

That’ll do nicely!

Oh quite fun! Love this one, Peter!

Thank you. All due to the fact that the train is Japanese!

Well, I have an idea how he got there, given his penchant for bourbon… we’ve all got friends who like to get us drunk and pop us on the nearest ferry!
