It’s time again, for Kat Myrman’s wonderful challenge, to write a story, inspired by her picture prompt, in 280 characters or fewer.
Here is this week’s prompt and my contribution.
Check out all the fabulously creative entries here and, if you’ve never had a go, why not try a story of your own? You may surprise yourself!

Darling
Great idea but, as codes go, rather complicated.
Understand that each love heart represents a letter of the alphabet and further variation is provided by the colour of the heart.
This message of 57 characters is now down to 40.
The dog ate the rest!
Please Text me, or Call me
(280 characters) and I bet some of you counted the love hearts!
Well that was inconvenient! Blame it on the dog. But I agree. Too much work!

It’s always quite vexing when a coded message of love and eternal commitment is eaten by the Schnauzer.

Nicely done Peter! At least the dog left enough to send a heartfelt plea :O) xx

This took me back a good number of years. You’d close your eyes, put your hand in the bag and hope the message you were hoping for was in your hand. If it wasn’t it was declared a mistake and we would try again! What fun!

The creators and users of the code forgot to factor in hungry pets!
A fun read. 😁

Apparently you skipped shorthand class in the 10th grade!

I do so wish I’d learned shorthand. It would have been so handy in many situations!

I probably would have eaten the code oblivious to it’s message!
