It’s time again for Kat Myrman’s wonderful challenge to tax our creative souls. Just take her photo prompt and write a story, inspired by it, in 140 characters or fewer.
Here is this week’s prompt and my contribution. Check out all the fabulous entries here.
Reveille sounds at six they said
but who would dare to wake the dead
the bugle call was right on time
and Mary’s ghost arose sublime!
(130 characters)
- In 1851, the four-story Marshall House was built by Mary Marshall.
- It served as a hospital for soldiers toward the end of the Civil War, and during two yellow fever epidemics.
Loved your little answering poem to the prompt / challenge. For some reason “challenges/prompts are not my scene, not sure, but maybe at my age ! my life has been enough of a challenge to me already…..

Slowly, slowly Ivor. Just do what you want, what you can, keep well fed, get out and help others, and you won’t go far wrong.

Thanks Peter, I’m ok, it’s just my emotional attitude overcomes me sometimes.

Perfectly understandable and natural Ivor. It will get better. Sending a manly hug (if that is acceptable in Australia!)

Being a former Marine…I remember the 5am wake up calls on boot camp. No bugles…just our DI’s tossing trash cans through the barrack. Oooh rah!
